Cooperation in the Agricultural Sector: Ambassador Papadia de Bottini and CIUZ Vice President Farci Meet with Uzbek Minister of Agriculture Abdurakhmonov

On Friday, January 10, in Tashkent, the Uzbek Minister of Agriculture, Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov, met with the Italian Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini, accompanied by CIUZ Vice President for Institutional Relations, Marco Farci.

The meeting provided a significant opportunity to deepen discussions on expanding bilateral cooperation and launching new projects of mutual interest. Minister Abdurakhmonov emphasized the importance of the ongoing development of relations between Uzbekistan and Italy, particularly highlighting the exchange of knowledge in the agricultural sector and the creation of student exchange programs in agriculture.

Strategic plans were outlined during the meeting to promote the exchange of experiences in combating climate change and to organize training courses for Uzbek agricultural workers on Italian agricultural regulations. Additionally, the introduction of innovative Italian techniques into Uzbek agriculture was discussed, focusing on joint projects aimed at improving productivity and sustainability in the sector.

At the conclusion of the meeting, which took place in a cordial and collaborative atmosphere, Minister Abdurakhmonov awarded Vice President Farci the “Agricultural Devotee” badge in recognition of his commitment to strengthening agricultural relations between the two countries.

The event marks an important step in developing the bilateral partnership in the agricultural sector at an institutional level, during a period of significant growth in agri-food trade between Italy and Uzbekistan.
