Upon the invitation of Uzbekistan’s Central Election Commission, CIUZ Executive Vice President Giuseppe Ferrario traveled to Uzbekistan as an international observer for the parliamentary elections.
On October 27, he monitored polling stations in Bukhara, accompanied by the Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dilshod Rasulov. The proceedings were conducted smoothly, and Ferrario was interviewed by Uzbekistan’s National Broadcasting Corporation for Uzbek television. These elections mark a crucial step in aligning Uzbek institutions with the new Constitution, enacted following the April 30, 2023 Referendum.
In the context of his observer mission, the Vice President was also invited to participate in the international scientific conference “New Central Asia: Challenges and Opportunities in the Era of Global Transformation,” organized by the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the Uzbek Presidency. The event, held in Tashkent on October 26, featured discussions on regional security, economic strengthening, and sustainable development in Central Asia, with contributions from leading experts from regional research centers.
Ferrario’s mission underscores the significance of CIUZ in fostering institutional relations between Italy and Uzbekistan.
